Really didn’t rate this hotel. Everything is so dated, the lock on the door barely worked and they still use actual keys not key cards. The lifts are tiny and old fashioned, we only used once when we first arrived as didn’t feel safe. It’s not in central Rome, it’s actually quite far out so be prepared to use a lot of taxis or public transport to get anywhere. The surrounding area of the hotel is quite rough, lots of graffiti and people hanging around drinking on the streets in the evenings. Staff were nice enough but nothing exceptional. Charged us €7.50 per person per night tax but we stayed in another hotel after this one which was central Rome and they only charged us €6 pppn. Breakfast is very basic, 1st morning there were no glasses for juice or water and 2nd morning no cutlery on tables, couldn’t find any on the sideboard so ended up using a spoon to butter my toast!

Outside entrance and reception are nice but the rooms are extremely dated and my room smelt a bit of stale cigarettes. My room was right next to the lift so it was almost impossible to sleep as it was really loud. The staff were polite and friendly (especially bar staff, reception are aLeo happy to call taxis for you) and breakfast was okay but there wasn’t a huge range. Also I would warn as I wasn’t aware at the time of booking as I did so through a third party, but this hotel is quite far from the centre of Rome so it took me some time and cost quite a bit in taxis to get about.

Rather disappointed that the hot water was unavailable for the first 2 days, but eventually sorted. Dated and somewhat incomplete hotel. Staff are helpful and nice. Facilities can vary depending on room. Was noisy as used by school trips and some travel companies. Not much for vegans at breakfast, brought my own milk. Limited seating and they turned away my elderly parents one morning as the children occupied most of the dining space, which I thought was cruel.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was high value given that we paid much less than other hotels in the city center, and the room was comfortable with an excellent air conditioner. There were also some really nice touches - detailed map provided by front desk as well as a to go breakfast during our early morning exit for airport shuttle. The breakfast buffet exceed our expectations for the price of the hotel! Only suggested feedback for improvement: this is not 5 minutes from Cornelia subway station. We are brisk walkers and it took 12-13 minutes each time. We still consider that really convenient, but 5 minutes is misleading. 4/5 stars - Patrick and Julianna
